Kijiyama style creative kokeshi こけし (wooden doll) by 小野寺幸楽 Onodera Kouraku (b.1944). Single piece of carved wood painted with a woman wearing kimono featuring red cherry or plum blossoms. Originating in the mid to late Edo Period (1603-1868) kokeshi are regional folk crafts, traditionally from 温泉 onsen (hot-spring) communities where visitors would often purchase them as a reminder of their stay.
