Batik Fabric, Red/Green Patterns

Batik Fabric, Red/Green Patterns
$18.00
Batiks are made by a "resist" process where the designer uses wax to prevent dye from penetrating some areas of the cloth. The wax resist can be painted by hand or block printed. The fabric is then overdyed (dyed again) and the wax is removed later by boiling the fabric. Usually batiks are dyed first with light colors, and overdyed with darker colors. The process can be repeated many times as necessary to to create complex designs. This fabric is suitable for quilting, apparel, or light use home decor.
